For many Nigerian Apple Gift Card holders, the problem is not understanding what the card is. The problem is that the value is locked inside an ecosystem you may not be able to use.
A common issue is region mismatch. Apple states that its gift cards generally cannot be redeemed outside the country or region where they were purchased. That means a U.S. Apple Gift Card may be perfectly valid while still being unusable with an Apple Account registered to another market.
And sometimes the priority is simply different: you need Naira that can be used anywhere, not store credit that can only be spent inside Apple's ecosystem.
In those situations, selling the unused card gives you another option. Instead of changing your account region, buying something you do not need or leaving the card unused, you can check what Cardgoal currently offers for the exact card you hold and decide whether converting it to cash makes more sense.

If you are unsure about the remaining value, check the card balance first. Cardgoal already has a dedicated guide explaining how to check an Apple Gift Card balance before and after redemption.
If the redemption code has been scratched, faded or damaged, do not immediately assume the card has lost its value. There are several ways to inspect the code and determine whether it can still be recovered.
Seeing an error such as already redeemed, not activated, invalid card or wrong region? Diagnose the problem before trying to trade it as a normal unused card.
And if you are unsure whether the card you hold is actually an Apple Gift Card or an older iTunes/App Store card, Cardgoal already has a dedicated comparison guide.
